The U18 ladies had no problem dismissing Slovakia in the quarter-finals.

In the end they won 6–1 and now they are ready for a semi-final against the USA.

The Women's Crowns captain Ulf Lundberg sat in the stands and enjoyed himself.

- Above all, I like the disrespect and then I talk about the matches against the USA and Canada in particular.

I look at the top qualities of course, I look at smartness, understanding of the game and understanding of the match which is a concept that we raised which means being able to make the right decision, to change with the puck, to be able to play on the clock and so on, there are many interesting parts, says Lundberg and continues:

- We are starting to build up a competition now, it is starting to get tough for the places in the Women's Crowns and there are players from here who are there and cutting too.

"They are very well on their way"

But at the same time, he is well aware that many of them have a long way to go.

- Is this a golden generation?

We don't know that yet, we'll have to see, I've worked for so long in talent development so I know there are a lot of tough years ahead of them performing really well at senior level, but they're very well on their way and there's a lot of good qualities with players in this team that I really like, says Lundberg.

In the U18 WC, Sweden has stood up really well against the great nations USA and Canada.

At senior level, there is still a difference of light years in terms of skill, but Lundberg looks to the future with confidence.

- If you look at the competition with Canada and the USA, it is above all the intensity, being able to play with creativity as we want but also at a very high level and I think we have come quite far now even if we have a little way to go.
