HV71 was tipped by several experts to belong to the top in the SHL this season.

That has not been the case.

Instead, the newcomer parks as second jumbo in the table after 32 rounds, four points from the qualifying line, but a full nine points from the playoffs.

During the season, the team, which is currently led by Färjestad's former gold coach Tommy Samuelsson, has strengthened with new players.

In November, former NHL star Niklas Hjalmarsson was brought in to bring stability.

The latest in the line of reinforcements are top defenseman Oliwer Kaski and NHL-deserving forward Nick Shore.

Right now you have ten defenders and 16 strikers in the squad and several with a high profile.

Despite that, they have not succeeded in lifting.

Now the next move is made from the management to get the ship in order.

According to information to SVT Sport, a contact has been established with the soon-to-be 55-year-old Richard Grönborg.

Grönborg has already signed an agreement with Finnish champions Tappara for next season, but is now available for HV71 on a consulting basis, according to SVT Sports information.

Information to SVT Sport also claims that assistant coach Johan Åkerman will be the one who gets to move.

In that case, Grönborg will form part of a leadership troika with Fredrik Stillman and Tommy Samuelsson.

Grönborg has a past with both Stillman and Samuelsson at Zurich Lions, the club he was recently fired from.
