French coach Hervé Renard denied the rumors about his desire to leave Al-Akhdar to train the Belgian national team to succeed Spain's Roberto Martinez.

"The news that I made an offer to coach the Belgian national team is completely wrong," Renard said in a tweet on his Twitter account today, Thursday.

The news suggesting I presented a proposal to coach the Belgium National team is totally false.

The Belgian newspaper "Het Nieuwsblad" claimed earlier that Renard had submitted a request to train the Belgium national team after the announcement of Martinez's departure.

The newspaper added that Renard was "among the names that expressed a desire to assume the position of technical director," although the Belgian Federation did not announce the list of coaches who sent applications for the new position.

Last December, the Belgian Football Association indicated its intention to search for a new coach to lead the first team, to succeed Martinez, who officially coached the Portugal national team.

It is noteworthy that Renard has an official contract with the first Saudi national team until 2027, and he led the "Al-Akhdar" in the "Qatar 2022" World Cup finals and left from the first round despite the 2-1 victory over the Argentina national team - who won the title - in its first match.
