Elvira Öberg didn't miss a single shot and won both individual World Cup events in Pokljuka last week.

When the 15 km distance was decided in Ruhpolding, the Swede finished sixth after missing his first shot of the year.

- I thought it felt good today, but I'm far behind in terms of that.

It felt good at the beginning, that I had the speed in me, but it's tough to lie down and push.

It's not that I answer poorly, but it didn't go as quickly as I thought, says Elvira Öberg to SVT Sport.

After the race, the Swede, who is second in the overall World Cup, was dissatisfied with her ride.

- As usual, the first two laps go pretty well, then I have to struggle especially on laps three and four.

I try to shift up on the fifth lap but it is difficult.

I had hoped to go faster today.

The skating is not where I would like it to be, but I am very satisfied that I continue to deliver at this high level, says Elvira Öberg.

Fifth fastest ride time

Elvira Öberg had the fifth fastest ride time in the distance race, but was 40 seconds behind Denise Herrmann-Wick who was fastest ahead of Julia Simon.

- She wants the best ride time of all, she is quite clearly beaten by Herrmann and also Simon.

Most people want to be better than what they are, but if it is repeated for a long time, you realize that you are not better.

But we know that Elvira in her best moments can have the best ride time and that then there are few who beat her, says SVT Sports expert Björn Ferry.

There remains a relay and mass start in Ruhpolding before next week's World Cup competitions in Antholz.

The WC in Oberhof begins on February 8.
