Mattias Ekström and Emil Bergkvist really well with after 20 miles of driving the seventh stage of the Dakar rally when they hit a rock.

Something that resulted in both a puncture and a broken wheel suspension.

They were left standing for nearly three and a half hours before the car was repaired and ready to be driven on.

Every now and then the dream of a good position went up in smoke but that does not prevent the duo from delivering good stage results, as in today's stage, the tenth of a total of 14, where they finished second behind rally legend Sébastien Loeb.

- It was a smooth stage.

We started a bit cautiously but halfway through we tried to bet a bit more, but I have to say that I'm a bit surprised by the second place because it didn't feel like we were that fast, but that's only positive, says Mattias Ekström.

The duo are currently in 22nd place overall, almost seven hours behind leader Nasser Al Attiyah.
