France twice against Scotland before the 2023 World Cup. The Xv of the thistle will also play against Italy and Georgia, in preparation matches for the 2023 World Cup in France, which will be held from September 8 to October 28, the Scottish Rugby Federation announced on Tuesday.

Scotland has unveiled part of the calendar of the XV of France.

The Blues will face the XV du Chardon twice before the Rugby World Cup which is to be held in France from September 8 to October 28, 2023. The XV du Chardon will begin with the reception of Italy on July 29, then France, a week later, before going to Les Bleus on August 12 and finishing with the Georgians at Murrayfield on August 26.

In Pool B of the World Cup in France, Scotland will challenge South African defending champions Ireland, Tonga and Romania.

"2023 will be a big year"

"2023 will be a big year for our national team which, after the Six Nations Tournament, will quickly turn to the Rugby World Cup," said coach Gregor Townsend, quoted in the press release.

"These four posters will give us very valuable experience in our preparation for this tournament. Playing at home three times before our departure will allow the players to feel the support of the public," he added.
