Victor Muffat-Jeandet was in seventh place after the first race and was on his way to a good position when the accident happened.

The Frenchman walked too narrowly towards a gate, hit it with his right knee and fell limp.

- It's a rock hard crash by Muffat-Jeandet, he hit the piste hard there with his head and then further into the catch net, says Viaplay's commentator and is supported by his colleague:

- We have to hope that it doesn't go too badly, but it looked nasty, it did.

We know how hard these slopes are, it's like comparing hitting a stone floor or asphalt.

The race was immediately stopped at the same time as the medical staff began to do their job with Muffat-Jeandet.

Just over ten minutes later, the Frenchman was taken from the hill on a stretcher for further care while staff restored the safety net.

Once the competition resumed, it turned out that the Swiss Marco Odermatt had the best nerves.

The 25-year-old was right on the edge and in the end was able to win by a margin of 73 hundredths in front of a jubilant home crowd.

Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen finished second and Odermatt's compatriot Loic Meillard drove into third place.
