The German "Transfermarkt" website, which specializes in football numbers and statistics, revealed a list of the 20 most goalkeepers in the five major leagues who kept clean sheets during the year that we said goodbye to, in all club competitions or national team competitions.

The Spanish League dominated this list, as it was known that there were 8 guards from the “La Liga”, followed by the English League with 7 guards, then the Italian League with 3 guards, then the German and French Leagues came with one goalkeeper each.

Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker - goalkeeper for the English team Liverpool and the Brazil national team - came at the top of the ranking of the most clean-sheeted goalkeepers during 2022, at the level of the "Reds" or with his country's national team.

During the past year, Becker played 62 matches with Liverpool and Brazil, during which he managed to keep clean sheets in 29 times.

As for the second place, it went to his compatriot Ederson, the English goalkeeper for Manchester City and the second goalkeeper for the Brazil national team, after he played 48 matches and kept clean sheets in 24 of them.

Real Cicidad goalkeeper Alex Romero came in third place after preventing the ball from entering his net in 22 matches, knowing that he fought 42 matches last year, while his compatriot Unai Simon, Spain's first goalkeeper, finished sixth after achieving 19 clean matches. Of the 47 matches he played with his team, Atletico Bilbao and the “La Roja” national team.

As for the poles of the Spanish League, Barcelona and Real Madrid, first-team goalkeeper Andre Ter Stegen came in fourth place with 22 clean matches (out of 50 matches), and royal club goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois ranked 13th with 17 matches (out of 59 matches).

This list was known for the presence of the Arab glove, represented by Yassin Bounou - the goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team and the Spanish team Seville - who won the "Zamora" award as the best goalkeeper in the Spanish League last season.

Bono finished 14th behind Courtois, having kept clean sheets in 17 of the 52 matches he played with his Andalusian team and with the "Atlas Lions".

The Moroccan star shone remarkably in the last World Cup in Qatar, where he kept his net clean in 4 full matches and against the mighty European teams (Croatia and Belgium in the first league, and Spain and Portugal in the second round).

As for Martinez, the controversial Argentine national team goalkeeper who led his country to crown the World Cup, he ranked 12th in this list, after he kept his net free of goals in 17 matches also during 48 games.
