Freshly landed in the Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo could have faced a local law, prohibiting a man from living under the same roof as a woman if the couple is not married.

Nevertheless, the Saudi authorities are becoming more and more permissive on the subject.

By signing at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, for a remuneration that could reach 200 million euros per year, Cristiano Ronaldo has certainly carried out a good operation financially.

On the other hand, the question could arise with regard to his family life outside the green rectangle.

In this ultra-conservative Middle Eastern country, it is forbidden for an unmarried couple to share the same roof, making it impossible for the Portuguese star and his partner Georgina Rodriguez to live together.

Nevertheless, the two lovebirds should be able to slip through the cracks.

In any case, this is what two Saudi lawyers, specializing in civil law, say to the Spanish press agency EFE.

“Although the laws of the kingdom still prohibit cohabitation without a marriage contract, the authorities have recently started turning a blind eye and no longer persecuting anyone, although these laws are used when there is a problem or a crime,” explains one of them on condition of anonymity.

Expatriates little concerned

His colleague, who also refused to reveal his identity, agrees: "The Saudi authorities are no longer interfering in this matter for expatriates".

Clearly, nothing seems to be able to deprive "CR7" of a comfortable family cocoon in the Saudi capital.

Only detail to settle now: the visa of Georgina Rodriguez.

The 28-year-old Argentinian-Spanish model could thus benefit from sponsorship from the Al-Nassr club or "obtain a one-year tourist visa, which allows you to reside in the country for 90 consecutive days on each visit", explain the Saudi jurists.

On Tuesday, Cristiano Ronaldo was officially presented by his club in front of 25,000 fans who came to cheer him on.

However, he should probably have to wait until January 21 to make his debut in his new colors.

The Portuguese must indeed serve two games of suspension for having broken the phone of an Everton supporter last September when he played for Manchester United.
