After six years at Chelsea, Bethany England is now changing clubs in London.

The 28-year-old has signed for local rivals Tottenham.

- I'm excited to get started.

The club has big ambitions, England told Spurs' official website.

The striker has signed a deal that runs until June 2026, and she will wear number 19 at her new club.

Record sum

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham will pay around 250,000 pounds, around SEK 3.2 million, to buy the striker off.

A British transfer record for women's football has thus been broken.

Lauren James' transfer from Manchester United to Chelsea, at around SEK 2.5 million, was previously the most expensive signing in England.

The world's most expensive player was Keira Walsh this summer, when she was signed from Manchester City to Barcelona for SEK 4.3 million.
