He was raised in Färjestad but made his Elitserie debut in the Frölunda jersey in the 2008-2009 season.

Now Henrik Tömmernes, 32, is ready for a return to the Gothenburg club.

"We have been interested in bringing Henrik home for a long time and now the timing was right.

There was no hesitation from us," says Frölunda's sporting director Fredrik Sjöström to the club's website.

Tömmernes has spent the last six seasons in Switzerland and the club Genéve-Servette, which now in the middle of the season announces that the parties are going their separate ways after the current season.

Then there will be a return to Frölunda, where he will become a central player.

"We hold Henrik in high regard.

It is a class defender who has been a top defender in Switzerland for many years.

He will be a core and star player for us," says Fredrik Sjöström.

The contract with Frölunda extends until spring 2027.
