Only eight of 93 regional league clubs from the five seasons in Germany have a youth performance center (NLZ), FSV Frankfurt is one of them.

The work of young people on the Bornheimer Hang is very important.

For the first time, the NLZ has been classified in Category 2 by the German Football Association (DFB).

This brings the FSV more income;

on the one hand, higher funding bonuses from the DFB.

In addition, training compensation increases when you change clubs.

The talent pool is flourishing: the U19s are leading the Hessen league ahead of third division club Wehen Wiesbaden, putting the team on course for the Bundesliga.

FSV is second in the U17s – one point behind Wehen Wiesbaden and five points ahead of Offenbacher Kickers.

Relying on young, success-oriented players - preferably from their own offspring - pays off for the former second division club, whose financial means are modest compared to league rivals Kickers Offenbach.

In the Regionalliga Südwest, the first club team of the FSV with a viable team with 30 points after 20 game days is bottom of the table;

only once in the past four seasons have Frankfurt, seven points behind third-placed OFC, been better: in the 2020/21 season (40 points), which meant second place.

Legacies should no longer exist

In the previous round, however, the FSV almost got relegated.

After almost falling into the fifth grade, he set the right course and carried out a radical change in the staff.

With coach Tim Görner, who at 26 is the youngest coach in the league.

The son of President Michael Görner has managed to form a powerful unit from the talented team, which has a top strength in the Dutchman Cas Peters - he is the top scorer in the league with 13 goals.

Thomas Brendel used to be the coach, today he is the sporting director.

The tasks are now well distributed.

The traditional club is also economically stable.

There should be no legacy from the insolvency in 2017.

For the 2022/23 financial year, Managing Director Patrick Spengler promised a small plus for FSV Fußball GmbH - with an annual budget of around 2.5 million euros.

The FSV is on the right track - in terms of sport and economy.
