The semi-finals of the National University Championship, which determines Japan's top university rugby team, were held, with Waseda University and Teikyo University each winning to advance to the finals.

The two semi-final matches of the National College Rugby Championship were held at the National Stadium in Tokyo on the 2nd.



Waseda University faced Kyoto Sangyo University in the first match, and Waseda University led 17 to 13 in the first half, including a try by Maki Eito.



Chasing Kyoto Sangyo University, Asaeli Rousey scored a try early in the second half to turn the match around.



Even so, Waseda won the match 34 to 33 after Daisuke Ito scored a try in the 27th minute of the second half to beat Kyoto Sangyo University and advance to the final for the first time in two tournaments.



In the second match, Teikyo University and Tsukuba University faced each other, and Teikyo University scored five tries in the 11th minute of the first half with a try from Shinya Komura to take a huge lead of 31-5.



In the second half, Teikyo University scored 6 consecutive tries with their characteristic offensive power and overtook Tsukuba University.



As a result, the final on the 8th of this month will be a matchup between Waseda University, who is aiming for their 17th victory for the first time in three tournaments, and Teikyo University, which is aiming for their 11th victory in two consecutive tournaments.
