More than 9 players in the selection.

Before moving to 2023, the Cameroonian under-17 team, which was preparing for the Unnifac Limbe tournament, qualifying for the next U17 Africa Cup of Nations, went through huge changes: 21 of the 30 players in the team were ruled out, following MRI tests, because they did not respect the age limit.

According to RMC, this test is an MRI of the wrist thanks to which the age of the players can be verified with 99% certainty by analyzing the maturation of the bones.

"Measures were immediately taken for their digital replacement", indicates the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), in a press release published on its site on December 28.

In the same press release, Fecafoot indicates that "this action is the result of rigorous instructions given by the President of the Federation [namely Samuel Eto'o], in order to put an end to the tampering with civil status records which have, by the past, tarnished the image of Cameroonian football's top body.

Fecafoot urges all actors, in particular educators, to ensure that the ages by category are respected.
