Austria have had a tough start to the JVM, going on Friday night to their second 11-0 loss of the championship.

It was now Canada who was responsible for the crushing, and not least the host nation's super talent Connor Bedard contributed.

The 17-year-old followed up the last game, when he scored seven points, by scoring another six.

He has now scored a total of 14 points in the opening three games.

This means that he leads the points league with twice as many points as the runner-up.

"I just want to contribute"

In addition, his two goals against Austria mean he has now scored 14 goals in the JVM context, tying the Candian record held by Jordan Eberles.

- It's not bad.

A lot is bouncing my way now.

Most things go in, says Bedard to SVT Sport.

Canada's next opponent in the tournament is the Junior crowns.

The match will be played on New Year's Eve, starting at 00.30.
