The Mt. Fuji Women's Ekiden, an all-Japan university women's ekiden, was held in Shizuoka Prefecture.

The 10th Mt.Fuji Women's Ekiden, a 43.4-kilometer race from Fujinomiya City in Shizuoka Prefecture to Fuji City, was held by 22 universities and 2 selected teams from all over Japan.

Meijo University, which had a lineup of first-year students running from the 1st to the 3rd section, took the lead from the 1st section, and in the 3rd section, Nanaka Yonezawa from Shizuoka extended her lead with a run that broke the section record.

And fourth-year student Arima Yamamoto ran for the section prize in section 5, the longest 10.5km, where the ace of each team gathered together.

Meijo University, which held on to the top until the final 7th ward, finished with a time of 2:21:56, winning its 5th consecutive victory in 5 tournaments.

Together with the All Japan University Women's Ekiden, which won the sixth consecutive victory in October, Meijo University has achieved two crowns for the fifth consecutive year.

Narumi Kobayashi, a fourth-year captain who ran in the 6th section of Meijo University, said, "I'm happy to have achieved my goal of winning five straight titles. Rather than being the captain, I was helped by my juniors, and we built the team together. I feel so grateful," he said.

Second place was Osaka Gakuin University with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes 7 seconds, and third place was Nippon Sport Science University with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes 21 seconds.
