How do you remember him?

- First of all from both the semi-final and World Cup final in Stockholm in 1958 where I was there and as a little boy got to experience him when he appeared on the world stage for the first time when I got to accompany my father.

He was a fantastic player when he really came out, says Svensson, who was 13 at the time.

Twelve years later at the World Cup in Mexico, Svensson was a member of the national team and got to know Pelé up close.

- He played in the Mexico World Cup in 1970 when I was there, even if we didn't meet them, we were in the same World Cup.

A few years later I got to meet him when I was in Belgium as a professional and Standard Lieage faced Santos, his Brazilian team that was on European tour.

It was an experience to meet him and a great moment.

What were his main qualities?

- He had the most with technique and goal-scoring ability, his ability to move with the ball was fantastic.

He was not particularly tall (1.73) but had incredible resilience and reached high in header duels and actually scored quite a few headers.
