It was a real revenge-seeking Canada that stepped onto the ice when they took on Germany on home ice in the JVM's second group stage match.

After the heavy loss in the opening match against the Czech Republic earlier this week, the team needed to roll up their sleeves to be able to find their way back and live up to expectations.

It was a real letdown for the home team.

After Canada scored their first goal, Germany made sure to equalize.

But after that, there was never any doubt where the match would go.

Two hat tricks later – one by Dylan Guenther and one by Connor Bedard – and the game ended 11–2 to Canada.

The super talent touched records

Bedard, who is expected to go number one in this summer's NHL draft, scored seven points on three goals and four assists.

It is a tied Canadian record for points scored in a single JVM game.

- It is definitely an honor.

But in the end, it doesn't really matter.

I'm playing with some great players and they made it easy for me last night and I had a bit of luck as well.

I guess it was just such a night, says Bedard according to TSN.

Canada and Germany play in Sweden's group A. There are also Austria and the Czech Republic, which Sweden will meet on Thursday at 19:30.
