A true legend of Iranian football, Ali Daei is still as angry against power in Tehran.

The man who supported the demonstrations that followed the death of Mahsa Amini has just accused the authorities of his country of having diverted a flight transporting his wife and daughter to Dubai.

Iranian justice had sealed, at the beginning of December, the jewelry store and the restaurant of Ali Daei, because of its implication in the calls for the strike launched by the demonstrators after the death of Mahsa Amini.

This 22-year-old Iranian of Kurdish origin died in police custody on September 16, three days after she was arrested by the morality police who accused her of violating the strict dress code for women.

State media confirmed that Ali Daei's family had been banned from leaving the country due to their "association" with anti-government groups.

Quoted by the ISNA agency, the former Iranian selection striker reveals that his wife and daughter boarded a Mahan Air flight in Tehran, but were forced to leave the aircraft after landing on the Iranian island of Kish in the Gulf.

Threatened for supporting protests

"They were not arrested," added Ali Daei (53).

No one has given me an answer about this incident.

I really don't know what the reason for this decision is.

My wife and daughter were going to Dubai for a few days.

Ali Daei's wife had undertaken to inform the authorities if she wished to leave the country "because of her relations with groups hostile to the Islamic revolution and the rioters", according to the IRNA agency, which quotes the justice.

The former Bayern Munich player (in 1998-1999) said in October that his passport had been confiscated by the police on his return from abroad, before being returned to him a few days later.

He also says he is the target of threats since he supported the protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini.

On September 27, Ali Daei called on social media for the government to "solve the problems of the Iranian people rather than resorting to repression".

Long top scorer in history at international level (109 goals with his selection), before his record was surpassed this year by Cristiano Ronaldo, he did not attend the World Cup in Qatar due to the repression of demonstrations.
