Sources told Emirates Today that some of Al Ain's main players suffered some special circumstances hours before Al Wasl's match the day before yesterday at the top of Round 12 of the ADNOC Professional League, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Including that the Al Ain defender, Bandar Al Ahbabi, spent the night before the match in the hospital, after suffering from illness, while the striker Caio was forced to participate in the match, despite the continuing impact of the injury he suffered in the Bani Yas match, in addition to the fact that the Ukrainian international Andriy Yarmolenko is concerned about what Ukraine is exposed to him.

Al-Ahbabi felt sick last Friday, which forced him to stay in the hospital until the early hours of the morning of the match, and this contributed to a decline in his level of physical fitness, especially in the second half during the Al-Wasl match.

Coach Rebrov was not able to exclude Al-Ahbabi, especially since substitute Saeed Jumaa was suffering from injury.

On the other hand, the sources mentioned that Caio is still suffering from the injury he suffered in the Bani Yas match, which prevented him from completing that confrontation.

Rebrov pushed him in the Al-Wasl meeting, to benefit from his experience, although he is still influenced by it.

In turn, Yarmolenko is not presenting his best levels in the current period in which he is receiving criticism from the fans of the team, and his mind is preoccupied with the events resulting from the crisis in Ukraine.

Al-Ain had achieved a disappointing result with its third consecutive draw in the league against Sharjah, Bani Yas and Al-Wasl, and it now has only 19 points after 12 rounds, which may cause it to leave the circle of competition for the title, especially since other clubs are going through their best periods now.

During the confrontation that the "leader" fought, at his home against the "Emperor", the team's suffering appeared clearly in the defense and midfield lines, specifically in the playmaker's job, and at the time when Caio and Yarmolenko participated as substitutes, they were expected to provide reinforcement for the attack, but Nothing changed, and the result remained the same with a positive draw 1-1, and it does not serve Al Ain's ambitions as the league title holder.

The current pause, which will last until the end of next January, will be a good opportunity for the injured to return, to strengthen the squad with deals during the winter transfers, and to play friendly matches to create harmony between the players, after the team missed a group of players during the last period, due to injury.

It is noteworthy that Al Ain will face Al Bataeh team on January 22 at the end of the first round matches of the current season.

• Al Ain lost 6 points in 3 consecutive draws against Sharjah, Bani Yas and Al Wasl.
