It has been a turbulent season for the now clubless Portuguese who recently had his dream of winning World Cup gold crushed in the quarter-finals against Morocco.

Ronaldo was benched for parts of the championship after confederation captain Fernando Santos was unhappy with the star's behaviour.

Now the former head coach Fabio Capello - who coached Real Madrid, Juventus and England's national team, among other things - is attacking Ronaldo.

- Ronaldo himself caused his problems, and considering what he has achieved in his career, it is sad, Capello told Corriere della Sera according to Football Italia.

- As a player, you cannot question him, but he was arrogant.

He put himself out there without finding any club that believed in him.

He has become difficult to have in a team.

The attacking star has recently been rumored to be ready for the Saudi club Al-Nassr where he is said to earn billions, but has himself refuted the information.
