A painful loss for the representatives of the Syrian basket in the opening of the "Super-West Asia"

The representatives of the Syrian basket, the "Al-Karamah" and "Al-Ahly Aleppo" teams, suffered two painful losses in the opening of the "Super-West Asia" group tournament, which came to Al-Karamah against Iraqi Oil with a score of (66-89) in a match that brought them together at Al-Fayhaa Hall in the Syrian capital, Damascus. And to “My People of Aleppo” in front of its Jordanian Orthodox guest (40-59) in a meeting held at Al-Hamdaniya Hall in Aleppo.

The champion and runner-up of the Syrian Basketball League last season, "Ahly Aleppo" and "Al-Karamah", did not appear at the required level, after the "Iraqi Oil" players succeeded in finishing the first quarter, outperforming Al-Karamah by "25-8", before the Iraqis renewed their progress at the end of the half. The first, with a score (50-26), won them the advantage in the second quarter (25-18).

With the start of the second half, Iraqi oil widened the difference again, by ending the third quarter with a score of (18-13), before Al-Karamah managed to gain a shy advantage in the fourth and final quarter by (27-21).

In turn, the Jordanian Orthodox knew how to decide his meeting against “Ahly Aleppo”, with the Jordanians gaining the advantage with the results of the first and third quarters, and then the fourth quarter, by (13-7, 18-6, and 11-9), while the players of “Al-Ahly Aleppo” settled for the advantage with the result of the second quarter (18 -17).

The loss of dignity led to the dismissal of the team's coach, Khaled Abu Touq, and the assignment of the club's important management to former Al-Wathba coach Azzam Al-Hussein to take over the technical management of Al-Karamah.
