The National Teams and Technical Affairs Committee of the UAE Football Association approved the expanded national team list in preparation for participation in the Arabian Gulf Cup “Gulf 25”, which will be hosted by the Iraqi city of Basra from 6 to 19 January, knowing that the national team plays in the second group alongside the Qatar teams. And Kuwait and Bahrain, where he begins his career in the tournament against Bahrain on January 7, while facing Kuwait on January 10, and Qatar on the 13th of the same month, at the Olympic Port Stadium.

The new list did not witness any major changes, and the coaching staff of the national team, led by Argentine coach Rodolfo Aruabarina, maintained the same faces that were present with the national team during its last two friendly matches against the national teams of Argentina and Kazakhstan, with the exception of Al Wahda goalkeeper Muhammad Al Shamsi and team player Abdullah Ahmed, who were excluded and punished by the committee. Al-Abyad will enter a camp in Dubai starting the day after tomorrow for a week, where he will face the Lebanese national team in a friendly on the 30th of this month at Al-Maktoum Stadium in Al-Nasr Club, before traveling to Basra on January 2.
