Regarding the cost of holding the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games announced by the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the Government Board of Audit pointed out that the amount borne by the government does not include the cost that should be recorded, and that the actual amount is more than 460 billion yen, which is 2.5 times.

As a result, the cost of holding the entire tournament will be approximately 1.7 trillion yen.

The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, announced by the Organizing Committee in June this year, will cost 1,423.8 billion yen, of which 596.5 billion yen will be borne by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and 186.9 billion yen by the national government.

On the other hand, the Board of Audit has not included in this, the investigation expenses associated with the construction of the National Stadium, the relocation expenses of the surrounding facilities, the subsidies for the renovation of the tournament facilities such as the Yokohama International Stadium, and the number of players of the Japanese national team. He pointed out that the cost of strengthening and the cost of implementing color smoke by the Air Self-Defense Force's "Blue Impulse" that was shown on the day of the opening ceremony should be included in the holding cost, and the amount borne by the country would be 280.3 billion yen more.

As a result, the actual amount borne by the government will be 466.8 billion yen, which is about 2.5 times the official amount, and the total cost of hosting the Games will be 1.6989 trillion yen.

After that, he asked the government to clarify the burden amount in an easy-to-understand manner for the public when holding large-scale events in the future.

Regarding this, the Japan Sports Agency said, ``This time, the costs pointed out were included in the related budget, but based on the findings of the inspection board, we would like to consider how to disclose the national burden.''
