And after their victory over France in the World Cup final on Sunday in an exciting match, the players will spend the night in the Argentine Football Association training complex near the airport, where thousands of fans are waiting to welcome them.

Then they will start a tour of downtown Buenos Aires, starting today, Tuesday, when millions are expected to greet them in the streets with the declaration of an official holiday in the country.

Messi, who scored two goals during the final match, was the first player to get off the plane carrying the championship trophy, and immediately after him, coach Lionel Scaloni.

A picture of Messi was placed on the tail of the plane with the words "One team, one country, one dream".

The players disembarked from the plane and made their way on a red carpet onto an open-top bus to the beat of their World Cup theme song "Muchachos" performed by La Mosca.

The bus left shortly afterwards for the training complex.
