Expressen was the first to write about Ludvig Åberg's LIV offer.

But the sum that was stated was heavily inflated, SEK 150 million, and Åberg had to come out and say that it was not correct.

When SVT Sport meets Ludvig Åberg at home in Eslöv, he tells about when a representative from the LIV tour contacted his coach at a college competition last spring.

The coach referred to sending emails instead.

And in the e-mail basket he then received two offers.

- Either to play the first three or four competitions in 2022 and get $100,000 per competition or to sign a two-year contract and get $2.5 million.

No regrets: "Not for a second"

What was your first thought?

- Red flags, this is not good.

We understood that potentially I could burn a lot of bridges and I wasn't interested in that.

Have you ever regretted it afterwards?

- No, not for a second actually.

The most important thing for me is to feel good.

There were some college players who accepted, and financially they may not have regretted it, but they have potentially burned many bridges.

- In 5 years or 10 years, I don't want to look back on this and regret it.

In my head, it (the LIV tour) is not really the right way to compete and play.

"Life-changing money really"

- Ever since I was out here (points to the home course in Eslöv) and putted as a kid, I often had a putt to beat Tiger in the US Open or beat Henrik Stenson at the Masters or whatever.

I wasn't ready to give it up.

But it's SEK 26 million we're talking about...

- It is clear that these were sums that I had never seen before, so it is clear that eyebrows were raised a little.

It's really life-changing money, but I still want to believe that a good player can still manage.

If you come out on the PGA Tour and challenge, it's a part that comes naturally.
