Nikolaj Majorov has participated in the Olympics, WC and EC, but will not get the chance in the upcoming European Championships in January, when 18-year-old Andreas Nordebäck instead of the chance.

In the SM this weekend, Nordebäck won before Majorov.

The 22-year-old says he is a little disappointed, but notes that this is the way the sport is.

- Life is not over, I am not driven forever now.

Now I get to rest and take another deep breath for next year.

This is nothing that will stop me if you say so.

The autumn has been a struggle, both mentally and due to a back injury.

- I was very burnt out there sometime in October and November and have had an injury to my back that hindered training.

So I'm proud of myself that I got through it and managed to make it to December.

I didn't think I would last until November.

What was that time like?

- Terrible.

I couldn't focus on doing the simplest thing on the ice and then you came home and laid on the sofa and couldn't move for several hours.

Then you had to reload for the next day and the next training, it was not simple.

The back injury didn't make it any easier.

He has the help of a psychologist and has received a lot of support from family, club and association, he says.

Majorov has previously struggled with depression, which he talked about ahead of the WC in Stockholm 2021.
