FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that the FIFA Council unanimously praised the current edition of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which Qatar is hosting these days, and considered that it had "achieved a resounding success."

And Infantino added in a press conference this morning, Friday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, that all the matches that have been played so far in the tournament (62 matches) have passed without any riots or abuses.

The FIFA President revealed that the World Cup matches in Qatar 2022 have been watched so far by 5 billion viewers around the world, and that the revenues of this edition amounted to $7.5 billion, an increase of $1 billion from the previous edition.

Infantino stressed that "football has already united the world," and that "the current version has been a resounding success," and thanked Qatar for "providing the best version of the World Cup ever."
