She also makes it clear that she intends to return to the basketball court and her club Phoenix Mercury already in the upcoming season, which begins in May 2023.
“I want to make one thing very clear: I intend to play basketball for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA this coming season.
And through that, I look forward to personally thanking everyone who advocated and wrote on my behalf soon,” writes Griner.
It was on December 8 that US authorities announced that Griner had been released as part of a prisoner exchange, after being detained in Russia for ten months.
