Walter Wallberg chose to forego the World Cup premiere in Finnish Ruka, but a week later the Olympic hero was back.

After Friday's qualifying, the 22-year-old started as the 13th rider in Saturday's final in Idre, and after a fast and stable ride, he made it to the super final as the fifth best rider.

- If I hold the ride together a little more and land in the groove, it should go my way, said Wallberg in Viaplay's broadcast before the decision.

Once there, he drove in a controlled manner and crossed the finish line as the new number one.

But Wallberg, at 78.98, couldn't hold off winner Nick Page, who landed at 81.02 points, finishing third.

The American thus took his first World Cup victory.

- I am excited.

It's hard to find words right now, it was very special, says Page and pays tribute to Sweden:

- Sweden has a special place in my heart, it was here that I won my first my first WC podium and now this.

I love this country.

On the women's side, Jakara Anthony, Australia, won with 81.75 points, ahead of second-placed Anri Kawamura (80.02) and third-placed Perrine Laffont (76.08).
