In the first relay of the season in Kontiolahti, Sweden was already out of the top positions after Peppe Femling's first leg and was almost three minutes behind at the finish line.

A flop, according to shooting coach Jean-Marc Chabloz.

Now they chose to shake up the team and make three changes - the first was to start with Jesper Nelin.

The shift proved successful, as Nelin had the fastest ride time on the stretch and switched into Sweden as second behind Norway - only ten seconds behind.

- I got through without any worse things.

Two extra shots is perfectly fine, says Nelin to SVT Sport.

Fast skis

Ponsiluoma took over and continued to be fastest of all in the track.

Despite four extra shots, he caught up with Norway in his final round and sent out Peppe Femling only seconds behind Italy in close quarters.

On the third stretch, Femling was able to hold Johannes Thingnes Bö's pace, but managed to do it all the better on the rampart.

An extra in the first and full in the second.

At the changeover, Sweden was third, just over a minute behind Norway.

"They should be a different division"

A strong effort that felt particularly good for Femling.

- It feels good.

You're such a damn bird or fish, so it was really nice to have a little revenge today.

I rode the same route as Bö and Jaqcuelin and they are supposed to be a different division.

That I get to ride with Jaqcuelin today means a lot, says Femling.

Sebastian Samuelsson was the safety himself both on the skis and with the rifle.

The 25-year-old only needed to use one extra shot and secured second place behind Norway.

The margin up to the neighbors from the west was 20 seconds.

Germany finished third.
