The hard blow.

Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer announced on his Instagram account on Saturday that "the current season" was "over" for him due to a broken leg during a skiing holiday.

This is very bad news for the Bavarian club, which will also be deprived for the rest of the season of its defender Lucas Hernandez, seriously injured in the right knee during the first match of the French team at the World Cup-2022.

Bayern are due to face PSG in the Champions League round of 16 on February 14 and March 8.

It is his compatriot Sven Ulreich who should replace Manuel Neuer as goalkeeper until the end of the season.

The wound that falls badly

Neuer, 36, broke his leg while ski touring and was operated on at a clinic in Murnau, near Munich.

“Thank you very much to the medical team!

However, it hurts that the current season is over for me, ”he wrote on his Instagram account, with a photo on his hospital bed showing his leg in a cast.

The 2022-2023 season is decidedly cursed for the 2014 world champion, already sidelined before the World Cup due to a shoulder injury.

Returning in time for the World Cup-2022, Neuer, 117 selections, could not prevent the elimination of the Mannschaft from the group stage, as in 2018.
