Moroccan sniper Youssef Al-Nusairi became the name that made history for Morocco, the continent of Africa, and the Arabs when he scored yesterday the goal of the resounding 1-0 victory over Portugal in the Qatar World Cup 2022, to become the “Atlas Lions” the first African and Arab team to reach the semi-finals in the history of the FIFA World Cup, stressing He is the "strategic piece" in the "patches" of his coach, Walid Rekragui.

The Spanish Seville striker also became the most scored Arab player in the history of the World Cup, along with the Saudis Sami Al-Jaber and Salem Al-Dosari, and the Tunisian Wahbi Al-Khazri, raising his tally to three goals.

Al-Nusairi suffered harsh criticism this season in light of his declining form, and Regragui defended him before the World Cup after voices rose calling for his exclusion.

Even before announcing the preliminary squad of 55 players, the coach confirmed that En-Nesyri would be in the World Cup.

Regragui was well aware of what he was saying. The striker, born on the 1st of June 1997 in the city of Fez, has done more than expected in Qatar.

In the last match of the group stage against Canada (2-1), he scored the first goal for Morocco.

He scored the second goal when he slipped behind the Canadian defense following a wonderful pass from Hakimi, which he finished with a powerful shot from inside the area to the left of the goalkeeper (23), then scored a goal that was ruled out by the referee for offside (45 + 3).

In the quarter-finals against Portugal, he rose to a very high ball and headed it into the net of goalkeeper Diogo Koshta (42), scoring the historic crossing goal.
