Pele sends an unexpected message to Mbappe after he broke the "Brazil legend" number

Brazilian football legend Pele, who has been in hospital since last week, expressed his gratitude to French striker Kylian Mbappe for his support, and congratulated him on his record, which he set in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Pele, 82, confirmed on social networks, "Mbappe. I am happy to see you break another of my records in this World Cup, my friend," in response to a message published by the Paris Saint-Germain striker, in which he wished the Brazilian legend a speedy recovery.

Pele, the world champion with Brazil three times, was admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo on November 29, where he was undergoing treatment for a pulmonary infection, according to the latest medical report.

And Pele's doctors had initially announced that he had entered the hospital to assess a change in the chemotherapy he had been receiving since he underwent an operation to remove a colon tumor in September 2021, and days later they announced that he was suffering from a respiratory infection that he had also been exposed to after contracting the emerging coronavirus nearly a month ago.

It is noteworthy that Mbappe, the world champion with France in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, has stated on several occasions that he is a big fan of Pele.

In Qatar 2022, Mbappe scored five goals, raising his goal tally in the World Cup tournaments to nine and becoming the youngest player to score the largest number of goals in this tournament before he was 24 years old, surpassing Pele's record of seven goals.
