Federer receives a severe shock after his retirement .. The security men at Wimbledon do not recognize him

Swiss star Roger Federer retired only three months ago, but the eight-time Wimbledon champion must get used to normal life, for example, when security men at the All England Club prevent him from entering because he was not recognized.

The Times newspaper reported that the 41-year-old Swiss legend revealed to the American television program "The Daily Show" that a security guard succeeded where many competitors on Wimbledon failed to defeat him, without even using the ball.

Federer made his last appearance on the tennis scene at the Laver Cup last September in London - while he had not played a competitive tournament since Wimbledon in 2021 due to a knee injury, which ultimately prompted him to turn the page permanently.

Federer recounted what happened with him, starting, "I didn't want to tell Wimbledon that I might be there."

"I didn't know if I would have time to go to the club because I was going home with the family.

"I've finished my visit to the doctor. Well, we have two hours. So what do we do? Shall we head to the airport? Or let's go quickly to tea at Wimbledon?"

The 20-time Grand Slam winner admitted that he had not visited the place he had always shined, "I drove to the gate, where the guests usually enter."

"I quickly got out to talk to the security lady + Hey, I was just wondering how do I get into Wimbledon? Where is the door? Where is the gate? Do you have a membership card?" she said.

Federer was surprised by her reaction, explaining, "My reaction was like yes, there is one? Because when you win Wimbledon, you become an automatic member."

"Honestly, I don't know about membership cards. It might be at home somewhere. I'm just traveling so I had no idea."

Federer, who is known for his high morals on the court, made it clear that he does not carry his membership card, but could you direct him to the place where he can enter the club.

And Federer continues, quoting her, "+ Yes, but you have to be a member."

"I looked at it one last time and I'm in a panic now. And I'm so sorry I couldn't believe - I still can't believe I'm saying that because I still feel bad about it," he added.

"I would look at it and say, 'I've won this tournament eight times, please believe me, I'm a member so how do I get in?'"

Federer eventually managed to enter from the other side of the All England Club - thanks to a bystander who showed his identity to security.

"I thought about going to the other side and saying I'm in, but I didn't," Federer said.
