Africa failed to pass the quarter-finals of the World Cup 3 times.. Will Morocco do it?

Morocco is seeking to reach the semi-finals in the FIFA World Cup Qatar, in an unprecedented achievement for an African team, after Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002) and Ghana (2010) failed to pass the previous quarter-finals, at a time when Morocco hopes to compensate for those failures and qualify for the golden square. In the current World Cup Qatar 2022.. Will you do it?.

Cameroon was the first African country to reach the quarter-finals in the World Cup, specifically in the 1990 World Cup in Italy, where the "untamed lions" thought they had touched the golden square.

Roger Milla passed a decisive ball to Eugene Ikeke to give the latter the lead for his country in the 65th minute against England 2-1, as it seemed that Cameroon had put forward in the semi-finals.

Four minutes earlier, the 38-year-old “Joker” Milla (4 goals in 1990) got a penalty kick, which Emmanuel Conde translated into the equalizer (61).

The English advanced first thanks to David Platt (25).

Adel, top scorer of the 1986 World Cup, Gary Lineker, from a penalty kick (83), to deal a fatal blow to the hopes of the “Black” by scoring the winning goal in the 105th minute from the penalty mark, also after extension.

The players, some of them in white shirts that they exchanged with the English, bid farewell with an honorary gesture, after a remarkable epic, as Cameroon graduated with its head held high after it launched its adventure in the opening match by defeating Argentina, the defending champion, 1-0.

Senegal is a victim of the golden goal

Senegal reached the quarter-finals in their first participation in the World Cup.

The Teranga Lions started their adventure in the 2002 World Cup by defeating France, the defending champions and the favorites to retain the cup, 1-0.

Senegal continued its way with two draws against Denmark 1-1 and Uruguay 3-3.

It beat Sweden 2-1 with a golden goal, with a double from Henri Camara (37 and 104) in a crazy festive atmosphere, led by the conductor El Hadji Diouf.

The Senegalese dream was shattered in the quarter-finals against Turkey (0-1 with the golden goal), immediately after the start of extension, as Ilhan Mansez (94) scored the goal that led his country to the golden square in its second participation in the World Cup.

Ghana was the closest

Ghana remains the African team that came closer than others in the continent to qualifying for the semi-finals in the World Cup in South Africa 2010.

The Black Stars team needed a whiff of luck to qualify.

He won a penalty kick in the fatal minutes of the second half of extra time, so the crossbar stood in front of the dreams of striker Asamoah Gyan (120 + 1).

The deliberate handball made Uruguayan Luis Soares a "devil" in Ghana, after the "Celeste" striker prevented Dominic Adiyeh's header from entering the goal (120 + 1).

But Gyan, who succeeded in translating two penalties in the group stage against Serbia 1-0 and Australia 1-1, trembled in the most difficult test.

Gyan also scored in the final price against the United States (2-1 after extension), and succeeded in his penalty shootout against Uruguay, only to fail to get Ghana to the semi-finals (4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw).
