The Spanish Football Federation announced the appointment of Luis de la Fuente as coach of the first team, to replace coach Luis Enrique, whose services were dispensed with.
The Spanish Federation stated on its official website that the sports director, Jose Francisco Molina, sent a report to the president of the federation, Luis Rubiales, recommending that La Fuente coach the Spain under-21 team be chosen to lead the new phase that begins after the World Cup in Qatar.
The new coach will appear for the first time in March in the qualifying stage for Euro 2024 and will play the first two matches against Norway and Scotland.
He concluded that once his appointment is approved by the Board of Directors, Luis de la Fuente will be presented next Monday, December 12th.
