The fad with the dropped magazines became one of the weekend's big talking points after the World Cup premiere in Kontiolahti, Finland.

Stina Nilsson remained standing and needed the help of officials to get shots in the bag and continue the competition.

A minute later the shooting series was finished - and now the explanation for the problem has arrived.

- We have concluded that the magnets that held the magazines were not strong enough.

They fell out during the prone shooting, says Stina Nilsson at a press conference.

Happened during training last summer

Nilsson says she has never experienced that during a race before.

But:

- I have a new stock (on the rifle) for this year and when I got it at the beginning there were a couple of training sessions this summer that the magazine was not attached properly.

But then we put in magnets and now we've reinforced it to get even more friction.

Given that she rode many sessions and competitions with the solution before this weekend's loss, Stina Nilsson is confident in keeping track of the shots in the future.

- Having said that, it can certainly happen again, it can certainly happen to everyone at some point.

But it is not something that I will go and think about.
