While the biggest French cities have said no to fan zones for this World Cup, only the town of Le Port, on Reunion Island, has installed a giant outdoor screen, to allow supporters to follow the matches.

No fan zone in France except on Reunion Island where the city of Le Port has installed a giant outdoor screen.

Under a temperature of 26 degrees and when night had already fallen, some 600 supporters brought folding chairs and bottles of water to last 90 minutes.

"It's not possible to experience that in Pontarlier, it's 1 degree so without the big down jacket, we wouldn't have been able to. Anyway, there are no fan zones, so we don't have this atmosphere," she says.
