Qatar: The host Qatari team was the first team to be eliminated from the tournament after being defeated by Ecuador (2-0) and Senegal (3-1).

The team ended its campaign without any points after losing 2-0 to the Netherlands in the last match in the group stage.

- Ecuador: Ecuador came very close to reaching the round of 16 and equaled their best performance in the 2006 edition, but they were knocked out after a 2-1 defeat by African champions Senegal.

Iran: Despite their 6-2 defeat against England in the opening match of Group B, Iran's 2-0 victory over Wales gave them a glimmer of hope about the possibility of making history and reaching the round of 16. But the 1-0 defeat against America knocked them out of the tournament.

Wales: Wales, who were competing in the tournament for the first time since 1958, finished bottom of Group B with one point and one goal.

Mexico: Mexico missed the knockout stages after finishing third on goal difference behind Poland, ending a run that includes seven consecutive World Cup round-of-16 appearances.

Mexico coach Gerardo Martino took full responsibility for the team's exit and said he would not extend his contract with the local federation.

Saudi Arabia: After opening their campaign in Qatar with a stunning 2-1 win over Argentina, Saudi Arabia lost 2-0 to Poland and saw their hopes of reaching the knockout stages fade after a 2-1 defeat by Mexico.

Tunisia: Tunisia beat defending champions France 1-0 in their last Group D match, but that was not enough for them to progress to the last 16 after being drawn with Denmark and losing to Australia in their first two matches.

Denmark: Denmark occupied the bottom of the fourth group standings, after drawing with Tunisia and losing to France and Australia.

Germany: Germany exited the World Cup at the group stage for the second time in a row, finishing third in Group E behind Japan and Spain.

Belgium: Belgium, who were the favorites to qualify from Group F, finished third in their group with four points, after winning only one of their three matches.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, who has been in charge of the team since 2016 and led it to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, said he will leave his post after the exit from the Qatar finals.

Canada: Canada, which participated for the first time in the World Cup finals since the 1986 edition, finished bottom of Group F after losing the three matches in the group stage.

Serbia: Serbia occupied the bottom of Group G and left the Qatar finals without achieving any victory.

It lost to Brazil and Switzerland and drew with Cameroon.

Uruguay: Uruguay finished Group H with four points, like South Korea, but were eliminated from the tournament because they scored fewer goals than the Asian team.

Ghana: Ghana beat South Korea 3-2 in a thrilling match, but defeats to Portugal and Uruguay eliminated them from the tournament.

Australia: Australia were knocked out of the World Cup after losing 2-1 to Argentina in the last 16, as goals from Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez secured victory for the South American side.

USA: America's run in the World Cup came to an end after losing 3-1 to the Netherlands in the round of 16.

Senegal: African champions Senegal lost 3-0 to England in the round of 16, with Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bucayo Saka scoring for Gareth Southgate's team.
