The star of Spain warns the "Atlas Lions"... We will not repeat our fall against Japan

Rodri Hernandez said on Sunday that Spain had learned lessons from the 2-1 loss to Japan, which almost led to their exit from the World Cup, and realized that they could not afford the same mistakes against Morocco.

Spain lost 2-1 to Japan in the last match of Group E after the Asian team scored two consecutive goals that caused the Spanish team to occupy second place in the group, and there were three minutes in which the team finished third after Costa Rica advanced 2-1 over Germany.

In the end, Germany did Spain a favor by beating Costa Rica 4-2, but Rodri admitted those three difficult minutes unnecessarily complicated their game before qualifying for the last 16.

"Now a new competition begins. There is always analysis about what we can develop, even after matches in which we played well," Rodri told reporters before Tuesday's match against Morocco, who surprisingly topped Group F.

"In the last game, there weren't many things to improve because it was a collapse for ten minutes and that's what we have to not repeat and deal with better. We were warned that this can't happen again.

"The coach was clear, the players took responsibility and we are training happily. We want to qualify for the quarter-finals and we know the possibility of achieving that."
