The All Japan Championship was held to determine the number one amateur sumo wrestler in Japan, and Yasuteru Nakamura, a fourth-year student at Nippon Sport Science University, won the championship and became an "amateur yokozuna" for the second year in a row.

The All-Japan Sumo Championship held at the Kokugikan in Ryogoku, Tokyo is a tournament in which working adults and students selected from all over the country participate to decide the best amateur sumo wrestler in Japan, "Amateur Yokozuna".

Nakamura, a fourth-year student at Nippon Sport Science University who won this tournament last year, made good use of his body, which is 1.93 meters tall and weighs 175 kilograms. I played against Taisei Matsuzono, a staff member of the university.

Nakamura was unable to catch the mawashi, but when his opponent came out, he won with a well-timed attack, and won the title of "Amateur Yokozuna" for the second year in a row.

It is the first time in 25 years since Keiji Tamiya, former sumo wrestler Kotomitsu Ozeki, achieved the title of "Amateur Yokozuna" for the second consecutive year when he was at Nihon University.

Nakamura reflected, "I'm really happy that I won the last All Japan Championship in my amateur sumo career with the Nippon Sport Science University bib. I'm glad that Nakamura's name was engraved on the record."

Nakamura, who has won the National Athletic Meet and the National Student Championship, hopes to enter the sumo world in the future.
