The Dutch national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, after defeating the United States 3-1, yesterday, in the round of 16 competitions in the current edition held in Qatar.

The Dutch team took the lead through Memphis Depay in the 10th minute, before his teammate Daley Blind added the second goal in the first minute of calculated time instead of lost for the first half.

In the 76th minute, Haji Wright scored America's only goal, while Denzel Dumfries added the third goal for the Dutch national team in the 80th minute.

The match began with pressure from the American side, which sought from the start to score an early goal against its opponent, and great pressure was placed on the Dutch defensive trio Van Dyck, Timber and Nathan Ake.

The American team entered the match with an attacking trio consisting of Timothy Weah, Jesus Ferreira and Christian Pulisic, trying to score an early lead.

In contrast to the course of the match, the Netherlands national team succeeded in scoring the first goal through Memphis Depay, who received a pass from the right side from his colleague Denzel Dumfries, to put the ball without hesitation into the net of goalkeeper Matt Turner in the 10th minute.

In the 42nd minute, Andreas Nobert, the Dutch goalkeeper, blocked a powerful shot from Timothy Weah, the US striker.

And the Netherlands national team succeeded in scoring the second goal in the first minute of the calculated time instead of lost for the first half by Daley Blind, who received a cross from his colleague Dumphers, to put it into the net in the same way as the first goal, so that the first half ended with the Netherlands leading 2-0.

With the start of the second half, the two teams entered more aggressively than the first half, as the Dutch team tried to score a third goal to end things in their favour, while the American team sought to score a goal that would bring it back to the match.

In the 48th minute, Netherlands goalkeeper Nobert shone, and blocked a dangerous attempt by Tim Reem, America's defender, who followed a cross from a free kick, but the Dutch goalkeeper successfully grabbed the ball.

A minute later, Turner shone and prevented a third goal from entering his own net, after a cross from Dumfries hit the foot of Anthony Robinson, the US national team defender, so that Turner managed to remove the danger.

Turner saved another attempt from Depay in the 60th minute, as the latter hit a ball from outside the penalty area, but the American goalkeeper saved it brilliantly.

Turner continued his brilliance and parried a dangerous attack after a powerful shot from substitute Theon Koopminers, before Depay followed it up and Turner managed to save it again in the 70th minute.

And the American national team succeeded in scoring the goal of reducing the difference in the 76th minute, after receiving a cross pass from his colleague Polsic on the right side, so that Haji Wright touched it and put it into the net.

In the 80th minute, Denzel Dumfries scored the third goal for the Dutch national team, after receiving a wonderful cross from Blind, to put Dumfries with his left foot into the net.

Amid attempts by the American team to return to the match again, and the Dutch tactical discipline, the final minutes of the match passed until the referee blew the final whistle, with the Netherlands winning 3-1.
