Ski jumper Katharina Althaus flew away again on her favorite facility in Lillehammer.

The two-time Olympic silver medalist from Oberstdorf achieved her tenth World Cup victory in the 1994 Olympic venue on Saturday and her fifth at Lygardsbakken in Norway.

At the first competition on snow after the mat start in Wisla, Poland, at the beginning of November, Althaus confidently placed ahead of the World Cup leader from Austria, Eva Pinkelnig (250, 2), through.

World Cup title defender Marita Kramer (242.3/Austria) came third.

The other German jumpers were also convincing in Norway.

Selina Freitag (Aue), sister of ex-world champion Richard Freitag, achieved her best World Cup result (13th place so far) in sixth place.

Anna Rupprecht (Degenfeld) was tenth, Agnes Reisch (Isny) came in 15th.

Althaus has now won three times on the normal hill of Lillehammer, in 2021 she had won her last victory there.

She won twice on the large hill, which is used for jumping on Sunday.

In Wisla, after a botched first competition (21st place), Althaus had already shown strong early form in the second competition with second place.
