The name of Adam Yasari topped the communication platforms, after the Swiss national team player, Granit Xhaka, wore a shirt bearing the name Yasari in the celebrations that followed the victory over Serbia and their promotion to the second round in the 2022 World Cup.

Xhaka appeared wearing a shirt bearing the name of his teammate Ardon Yasari, who belongs to a family from which a famous fighter and one of the prominent Kosovo independence heroes who bears the same title and who is considered a terrorist by Serbia descends.

Yasari's name was present on the platforms strongly since yesterday, Friday, as his name came in about 5,000 tweets on the Twitter social networking site, and thousands shared his story on various platforms, while it appeared clearly on Arab communication platforms, where tweeters shared his story and history.

Yashari is considered one of the most prominent symbols of Kosovo's independence, as he was one of the founders of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the nineties of the last century, and he was at the head of the groups that attacked Serb gathering centers in the country.

Granit Xhaka apparently was planning to celebrate with Jashari shirt in case he scored.

Imagine if that happens!

🔥

He still managed to pull off one of the greatest images ever!

Yasari was a target for the Serbian forces, who condemned him to terrorism and tried to arrest him more than once, but they did not succeed in that, as he took refuge with the resistance fighters and barricaded himself in his village, and the Serbs could not reach him.

The end of Yasari's story came in the beginning of 1998, when the Serbian forces mobilized a large number of forces backed by tanks and aircraft, with long-range artillery shells, to besiege Yasari's house, with all exits closed, to prevent his escape or the arrival of any external support to him.

The clash between him and the Serbian forces continued for two full days, during which Yasari and 58 of his relatives were killed, in a massacre that the people of Kosovo remember to commemorate their struggle for independence.

Kosovo honored Yasari after its independence, as there are statues of him in its streets, and his name was named on many monuments, and some people wore shirts bearing his image on Kosovo Liberation Day in 2008.

Xhaka's wearing of the shirt was widely praised across the platforms, as bloggers praised Xhaka's keenness to remind the heroes of his country of origin in this international forum.

Journalist Muhammad Sultan commented - in his post on Facebook - "Who says that a Muslim fighter whose name we have not heard before, and that most of the current generation have not heard of, and whose name has not been mentioned much outside the borders of Kosovo, his memory will live on and perpetuate forever in the memory of the world, because of a player who carries a legacy." The struggle of his people and their oppression at the hands of the Serbs, this is the most important and beautiful part of football.

Chaka also received a special greeting - via platforms in Kosovo and Albania - as the interactors praised his keenness to revive their cause at every opportunity, as he did not hesitate to recall the origins of his family, who hail from Kosovo, and immigrated to Switzerland to escape the Serbian war.

Xhaka previously faced the Serbian national team in the 2018 World Cup, and he celebrated with his friend - who shares the same assets - Xherdan Shaqiri, by raising the famous Albanian eagle signal, which sparked widespread anger at the time in Serbia.

The Serbian platforms were not without widespread anger yesterday, Friday, after Xhaka's behavior, which they saw as a violation of FIFA rules, because Serbia considers Yasari a "terrorist".

Kosovo became independent in 2008, and Serbia refuses to recognize this independence until now.

The current World Cup witnessed a crisis between the two countries after a picture spread inside the dressing room of the Serbian national team after the Brazil match, in which a map of Kosovo appeared with the Serbian flag on it, with the phrase “No to surrender”, which Kosovo saw as an incitement to it, and therefore it filed an official complaint to FIFA, which launched an investigation in this matter. .

Xhaka's calmness throughout the ninety minutes in Serbia made me feel that he was lying in need after the match, and

Granit Xhaka had decided to celebrate the qualification with a shirt written on the name of the Kosovar national hero Adim Jashari, the leader of the resistance movement against the Serbian occupation.
