Khazri retires from international football with Tunisia

Khazri bid farewell to the Tunisian national team with the goal of a historic victory over France.

Striker Wahbi Khazri said he would put an end to his international career with the Tunisian national team after being eliminated from the first round of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, despite scoring the goal of the historic victory over defending champions France last Wednesday.

Al-Khazri said in a press statement: “After the Tunisia match, and in a meeting that included all the players and the technical and administrative staff, I told everyone that this moment is appropriate, and I thanked everyone and wished them success.”

The player, who raised his tally to three goals with Tunisia in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, added: “I am proud of what I gave to my country during the past years, and I believe that the future is for this generation.”
