It was on Monday that Letang told the training staff that something didn't feel right, and later in the day it was confirmed at the hospital that he had suffered a stroke.

Pittsburgh writes on Wednesday that Letang does not notice any symptoms at the moment, but he will undergo several tests in the coming week.

“Fortunately, I know my body well enough to know that something is not right.

While this issue is difficult to navigate publicly, I hope it can raise awareness.

It's important to me that my teammates, my family and the supporters know that I'm okay.

I'm optimistic to be back on the ice soon," Letang says.

Letang, who has scored 12 points in 21 games this season, is out indefinitely.

His state of health is not considered to be career-threatening.

Pittsburgh will not issue any updates until all testing has been completed.

Letang has three Stanley Cup titles to his credit.
