By defeating 1-0 against Australia, in the second round of Group D, the Tunisian national team complicated its mission to qualify for the second round of the World Cup "Qatar 2022" and became required to win - and no one else - in the difficult match that brought it together with France (2018 World Champion) Wednesday 30 November, and waiting for the result of the other match in the group between Denmark and Australia.

After Tunisia tied with Denmark in the first round and then lost to Australia, the chances of the "Carthage Eagles" to qualify for the second round for the first time in the history of their participation in the World Cup faded greatly.

After the end of the second round of Group D, which also witnessed an impressive victory for the French team at the expense of Denmark (2-1), the Tunisian and Danish teams now occupy the fourth and last place with one point.

Before the group's last round matches will be held on Wednesday, November 30, the French national team has become the first to qualify for the second round, after it has 6 points at the top of its group, and it will play comfortably in the Tunisia match.

The Australian national team ranks second with 3 points, and behind it lie the national teams of Tunisia and Denmark, with the latter taking precedence thanks to the number of goals, as it scored two goals and accepted one, while the “Carthage Eagles” did not score goals and conceded one goal.

Note that the FIFA laws - in determining the qualifier for the second round when the number of points is equal - take into account the goal difference in all first-round confrontations, then the number of goals scored.

The Tunisian national team has a small chance to surprise and qualify for the second round, if it beats France, against a tie between Denmark and Australia.

In this case, France will continue to lead the group with 6 points, while Tunisia and Australia will be in second place with 4 points each.

In the event that Denmark beats Australia, the Tunisian national team will be required to win by more than two goals compared to Denmark’s victory over Australia, meaning that if Denmark beats Australia (1-0), Tunisia should win by two goals over France, or win by scoring Three goals.

As for Australia's victory over Denmark, it officially means that Tunisia will be out of the competition.

Tunisia will play its last match at the Education City Stadium, on Wednesday, and at the same time Australia will meet Denmark.
