It looked a little shaky during the season opener, but now the Toronto Maple Leafs have really picked up steam, tonight's 4-2 victory against the Detroit Red Wings was the team's fourth straight.

Mitchell Marner scored the match-deciding goal early in the second period, played by Calle Järnkrok, among others, and thus the 25-year-old Canadian scored for the 17th game in a row.

If he scores in the next game, against San Jose on Thursday, he will tie Darryl Sittler's (1977-78 season) and Ed Olczyk's (1989-90) club records.

"It's a cool thing, but you don't accomplish anything on your own in this game," Marner told NHL.com.

In the same game, William Nylander extended his hitting streak to three games.

Additionally, the 2–1 goal against Detroit was his 150th in the NHL.
