Tiger Woods, 46, seriously injured his right leg in a car accident in February 2021.

This meant that there was not a single competition last year, and this year there have only been four.

“Not much left”

And there won't be much more in the coming years either.

- I don't have much left in this leg, he said at a press conference in the Bahamas today, ahead of the invitational competition he is organizing there and which will be decided later this week.

- The goal is to only play the major competitions and maybe one or two more.

That's all.

Physically, that's all I can handle.

"The worst thing you can do"

Woods was supposed to play this week's event, but yesterday he announced he won't be after developing plantar fasciitis (the precursor to heel spurs) in his right foot, which is causing him difficulty walking.

- When you get plantar fasciitis, the worst thing you can do is walk.

And I walked more and more and more in an attempt to get my legs ready for this race, which only made it worse.

So I had to drop out, he explained at today's press conference.
